A clinical study of melanotan II conducted at the Section of Urology of The University of Arizona College of Medicine of 20 men with psychogenic and organic erectile dysfunction published in 2000 concluded, "that Melanotan II is a potent initiator of penile erection in men with erectile dysfunction."

Just becuse a study was done in 2000 does not mean that these are erectile dysfunction treatments. They have not been approved neather have they been fully tested, as it states in the report further testing is needed.

It appears that bremelanotide is going forward as a potential alternative option for those who are not responsive to Viagra:

Basically we cannot say so because of the lack of clinical data to prove it.
