Erectile dysfunction can be classified simply under two headings. Erectile dysfunction could be an early indication of oxidative stress and vascular dysfunction. Erectile dysfunction is common in men undergoing surgical treatment for prostate enlargement or cancer. Erectile dysfunction in asymptomatic patients may be a marker of silent vascular disease or increased vascular risk factors and should alert the physician to the need for cardiac risk screening. Erectile dysfunction was assessed by 2 questions on subject ability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for intercourse. Erectile dysfunction may serve as an early warning of heart disease down the road, even in men without traditional risk factors for heart trouble.

Do not forget Obesity. Obesity is the biggest source of many problems including ED.

As a person becomes obese ,the bad cholesterol starts accumulating on walls of arteries of heart .This narrows arteries and reduce the supply of oxygen rich blood and nutrients to heart and brain. Obviously the arteries in penis are no exeption so the same process occurs in there as well thus restricting the blood flow to the tissues and resulting in erectile dysfunction. You can improve your ed by losing weight. Research suggests that about one third of obese men with ED were able to cure Erectile Dysfunction by making lifestyle changes and losing weight.
